Wellbeing for all in a changing climate: what role for the EU and european universities?
Università degli Studi di Firenze, European University for Well-Being

Friday, May 9, 2025 h. 11:30-12:45
This seminar serves as a pivotal step in fostering a critical, evidence-based discourse on wellbeing within the European context, with a particular focus on ecological challenges and the systemic transformations they necessitate. Central to the event is the presentation by Prof. Mario Biggeri and Prof. Andrea Ferrannini of a new policy report “A European Agenda to Navigate Uncertain Times: How to Steer the EU Towards Wellbeing for All Now an d in the Future” co-authored by coordinators and policy leads from five significant Horizon Europe research and innovation projects: Spes, ToBe, Wise Horizons, Wiser, and Merge. These projects offer cutting-edge insights into constructing a European agenda for wellbeing that is resilient, forward-looking, and grounded in social justice and environmental responsibility, croscutting several if not all SDGs.
Within this conversation the seminar explores the role of European Universities with the EUniWell alliance, the European University for Well-Being, placing wellbeing at its core its mission, aspiring to be “a voice for wellbeing” across and beyond academia. Prof. Biggeri will present the results of the recently published study.
